Chef Kelbourne "Kelly" Codling was born on August 14th, 1947 in the small town of Rock Spring, Jamaica to Amy and Christopher Codling. At the early age of just five years old, Kelly helped his parents run their family farm to ensure his friends and neighbors never went hungry.
Kelly's legendary cooking style and techniques are all rooted in the traditional methods of cooking Jamaican food, many of which he learned from his grandmother. Unlike most chefs, Kelly believes that measuring ingredients isn't necessary. When the food tastes right, that's when you stop seasoning it.
As Kelly always says, "Treat people good and good'll come back to you", which might just explain how Kelly has successfully run two restaurants in Athens for over 20 years.
